Game #1 – Thursday May 8th
Game one is in the books. The Jr Badgers won 8-4, and had a great time. They picked up from where they left off in last years Championship game, by putting on a passing clinic. Here’s what the game plan was. Skate hard, pass the puck and have fun. The game was about to start and Drew Fietze told me “You have no idea how long I’ve been waiting for this”. That’s what makes it all worthwhile. That, and seeing the kids laugh and have fun throughout the whole game while the other team is taking it way too seriously. Thanks boys. See you Sunday. And special thanks to the fan of the game, Wesley Clancy!
Warm-ups. Wait, what?
Coach, you got the tin foil?
On ice warm-ups consisted of standing around and waiting to take a penalty shot on Jake. (And I think I saw some of them were making snow angels)
Coach Cole had something to say… apparently. Nice job Coach.
There’s either someone skating towards Jake, or he’s letting one rip. Mabye both?
Game #2 – Sunday May 11th
I’d rather forget about this game. We lost and we lost big. The good news? Um….. well….. Um…. Oh yeah, we hung with them for a couple of periods. Yep, we sure did.
Jokes aside, the kids did hang with them for the first period, and most the second. The bad news is, we’ll probably have to face them again.
Game #3 – Sunday May 18th
Great job by the kids (and most of them were fill-in players) to put together a shut-out win. We were lucky to play a weak team but sometimes you need a bit of that.
Thanks to all the kids (especially you squirts) who played with us for the first time. You all did terrific and I hope theres an opportunity to get you out there again.
As you can tell, I had good intentions of blogging after each game. But that apparently wasn’t meant to be.
Thanks to everyone who played for The Jr Badgers this year. We made it to the Championship game again this year, but this time went home with the little trophies instead.
Below are some pictures of the last game.
Have a great summer everyone.
